The 6 Can Method...

I was browsing through YouTube this afternoon and I came across a video that explained how to begin prepping way better than I have tried on the Rabbit Hole Net. It's very budget friendly and anyone can achieve a good sized stockpile of emergency food. First, I want to let you know of the source that I got this information from in case you might be a visual learner such as myself. The YouTube channel is prepping4tomorrow. The video is titled "Budget Prepping For Food Shortages With The 6 Can Method". Here's the link...

Step 1: Break down your canned goods into 6 categories.

Proteins: Meats, beans, legumes, etc.

Vegetables: Potatoes, peas, carrots, tomatoes, etc.

Fruits: Pears, oranges, fruit cocktail, etc.

Grains: Canned soups with rice, commercially canned bread, etc.

Condiments: Ketchup, mustard, sauces, gravy, etc.

Comfort foods: Beef stew, chicken & dumplings, etc.

Step 2: Assess your inventory. This will allow you to figure out what you are lacking. Remember, variety is important to maintain a balanced diet. Write down your findings.

Step 3: Plan your purchases. Your goal is to fill in the gaps. Don't buy what you or your family members won't eat.

Step 4: Slow and steady. Each time you go to the grocery store, add a canned good from each category to your cart. It's as simple as that!

Before you know it, you'll have a nice, balanced stockpile of emergency food for come what may!

I sincerely hope that this will help you if you are new to prepping. Once you start with this, maybe you might want to venture into canning? Let me know and I can certainly help you!

As we say on the Rabbit Hole Net, "Just do something". 2024 is potentially going to be the wildest year yet, so get ready!

Thank you for stopping by!
